The Husafjell Tunnel – lowest AID life cycle cost

A Trafsense® road monitoring system has been delivered to the county authority of Rogaland for the Husafjell tunnel on FV554 in Rogaland (Norway).

Trafsense® provides AID-functionality in this 670 m tunnel for the two incident types stopped vehicle and queue as wrong-way driving is not a relevant incident in this bidirectional tunnel.

The tunnel cameras are only for manual verification when an alarm is received by the road operator thereby eliminating the needs for frequent alignment and cleaning the way a camera-based AID system would have required.

Video visualization of real-time Trafsense® data from the 670 m bidirectional bore of the Husafjell tunnel on FV554 in Rogaland (Norway). Note that the number inside each vehicle icon is the speed in km/h.

Trafsense® unique level of vehicle-specific information can be observed in the video above, giving detailed and continuous information on individual vehicle speed, lane position, overtaking and stop positions.

Personnel from Trafsys AS installed the Trafsense® interrogator in a technical building adjacent to the southern portal of the Husafjell tunnel on FV554 in Rogaland (Norway)
